2:19 p.m. - 2004-05-20 From a glance, this diary seems to be the premise of some kind of Chick Lit or an episode of Law and Order that I saw once. We have gorgues twins Schulyer and Quinn, who live in a fabulous Manhattan apartment and whom are occasionally tailed by a tabloid photographer. There is incessant talk about THE PROM, a very John Rocker-like view on taking the subway, and there's quotes like this: "I'm pretty, my family is rich, so why the hell am I stuck at home? Not to sound conceited or anything..." Ooookay. Right. Well, Skye. I have to admit that I read some of your previous reviews and a lot of them weren't so great. I came into this diary fully expecting to hate it, but you know what? It kinda grew on me. You're not the greatest writer, and sometimes when you try to sound deep it sounds a little.. superficial. Like you're trying too hard. But the word I would use for this diary is "endearing." It's cute. I feel like I'm reading about Stacy from the BabySitters Club, if she had a twin sister of course. I found your life to be very interesting in a New York-ish kind of way. For instance, your entry on 9-11 was very interesting, and I hardly ever get to read about it from people who were actually in the city. I read every entry, and I hardly ever skipped around. Even this entry where you talk incessantly about yearbook in a very non-compelling way.. I still read the whole thing. I wanted to know how the situation was going to turn out! And yeah, you might be accused of being a little shallow. I mean, a quote page of nothing but what you and your friends talk about? Do you REALLY think that's interesting to the rest of us? And come on, dude.. do we REALLY need to know what in God's name is in your purse? This made me giggle. I'm not a huge fan of your layout, mostly because it always take like 20 seconds to load on my fast computer, so I don't know what that's about. You make some neato layouts.. I especially like this one. So, props to you for the design skills. All in all, I really enjoyed your diary. The relationship you have with your twin is really special and fun to read about. Maybe we're all just jealous of you. I know I am! I'm never going to be a beautiful rich chick living in NYC, but that's just me. AND, I would just like to mention what a RIP-OFF it is that you talk for MONTHS about the prom "PROM PROM PRRRROOOMMM" and then you never even tell us anything about it. I demand a prom entry, not just your sister's! Okay then. So, I give you 2 thumbs up.
