I get the feeling that this is a diary that I should like. It's multicultural and smart and intelligent and probably something I need to read, but really.. I was just bored. I know that the politics of Jakarta should fascinate me, but guess what? I really couldn't care less. Maybe it's my raised on MTV short attention spand mind, but I just could not get into it AT ALL! And I think I pretty much read every entry!
Well, "read" isn't the term I'd use, probably "scanned" is more like it. Especially entries like this one. I'm sure entries like that are interesting for people who live in the same area as you, but it didn't interest me at all. Again, maybe it should.. but.. it doesn't.
I did love this picture to death. I mean, wow! How beautiful.
An example of an entry I just didn't get was this one. I don't really "get" why I would be interested in the habits of someone else's housekeeper. Maybe that's insensitive, but hey, it's true.
My favorite entry was this one, because we get an honest entry about your husband. But I did notice that in a good majority of the entries that talk about him, you talk about him like he's just some guy in the story of your life. I don't get any kind of personal relationship when you talk about him. It seemed detached, and really a little strange.
All in all, you don't need me to tell you how intelligent you are. You know perfectly well how smart you are. It just wasn't my type of diary. It wasn't entertaining. It didn't appeal to my mile a minute brain.
I give you a blank look and some cheetos.
