1:13 a.m. - 2003-12-09 Currently listening to: Garth Brooks - Cold Shoulder. So! Here I am. A triumphant return to reviewing after slackerhood. Good times. I've gone back and forth to Laura's diary over the past month or so whenever I feel like it's time to do some reviewing, but for one reason or other, I never get it done. This isn't to say her content didn't keep me interested - for the most part, it did. But I guess there wasn't anything that really sucked me in. And you know me, I really need that suck in factor. First of all, let's start with the layout. I'm really not too jazzed about it. The twinkly thing it does when you go to the next entry.. my computer is slow and old and does not like that one bit. It's really not necessary to have effects like that, in my opinion. I kinda think you should have the content speak for itself instead of all the other bells and whistles, but what do I know? As for the rest of the layout, it's okay.. I don't have any real problems with it, it just doesn't do much for me. It seems a little.. busy. Or something. Content! Yay. Well, bad things first. She seems to be a little on the dramatic side a lot. She gets sick, so God must hate her. There's a lot of stuff like that, and sometimes I couldn't help but roll my eyes. She does have a lot of emotional stuff going on in her life, and I think she writes well, but I think sometimes she should just take a deep breath and RELAX a little! But yeah, I also know how hard that can be sometimes. I liked and agreed with her entry on Michael Jackson, and I really liked this one about her girlfriend. It was cute. But for every cute entry, there's an entry like this, which I didn't really read at all. I get that she's a nerd, but I didn't really need a whole conversation about it. Maybe a summary of the conversation would have been better. So, advice? I'm not really an advice kinda girl, but it's a good diary, and it doesn't need a lot of advice. Just maybe think of things in perspective. Keep it real, you know? Okay, now I sound like a dork. I give Laura an 85. Good, but not something I'd want to come back to read on my own time.
